Grand Egyptian Museum

Grand Egyptian Museum is a corporate identity for a museum of ancient Egyptian artifacts. The logo is built from five hieroglyphs that read Egypt, combined into a geometric and simple form. The elongated rectangular shape is inspired by the cartouche, a frame that indicates a royal name. Black is the primary color, because the banks of the Nile were called the Black Land. The secondary colors are inspired by ancient Egyptian jewelry. Roboto is the main typeface, as its angles and curves match those of the logotype. An experimental signage system was developed.

The Moment

The Moment Calendar was inspired by the ancient wisdom of Chinese Solar Terms and Ecclesiastes in Bible, which aim to express the reflection of impetuous society and remind people to know the season and to enjoy the moment. Therefore, there is a new design expression to present the past, now and future. Month is printed in the center of the page while date is shown on a gradient arc. Dates and arcs rotate clockwise around the center and fade away due to the translucent paper, which poetically draws a picture: the eternity of time is a series of the present moments. So, let’s enjoy The Moment.

Electric Meets Reality

Electric Meets Reality is an interactive projection mapping installation built for a car dealership. The wall measures 6500 millimetres wide and 2000 millimetres high. Three projectors add eight minutes of animation and colour. The projections stand for electricity and the sculpture stands for reality. The installation explains range, charging, safety and performance to visitors considering an electric car.

The three information graphics serve as a basis to introduce the topic of the Lazarus-Effect. They include "The Six Major Mass Extinctions", "Death Watch of the Species", as well as an information graphic of the "Local Fern Plants and Flowering Plants" (based on the Rote Liste, 2018). The Lazarus Effect is based on the theme of the Lazarus-Effect, as coined by paleontologist David Jablonski. This pertains to the unintentional rediscovery (by accident, through expedition or through relocation projects) of a previously lost or considered extinct form of life.

Cat With Fruits

Cat With Fruits is a series of illustrations created for the packaging of a dried fruit brand. Each illustration shows cats playing with different fruits. The colors were taken from photographs of nature captured with a mobile phone camera and then desaturated to create gentle tones. The drawings were completed in Photoshop CC 2020 at A4 size, 297 by 210 millimeters. The natural palette supports the pure and pollution free character of the product. The series follows the idea of naturalism and aims to give viewers a calm and comforting impression.
